The assignment was to come to class dressed up as someone or something other than yourself. I chose to wear a hijab because I want to shed more light on the Muslim identity. People are quick to judge when they see someone in a hijab, and I want to challenge those stereotypes. This is a watercolor painting where we learned the skill of controlling watercolor to make flat, smooth gradients.
